[Drabble] Follower, Col. Truman, worksafe
(I may be the only person in the world who likes Colonel Truman, despite his craptastic relationship with Scott. So let me be guilty of humanizing him a bit.)
When Scott Truman was six years old, he followed his older brother off a cliff.
Marcus caught him, scolded him, then taught him how to climb safely. Scott was fourteen before either of them admitted what they'd been up to to their father.
Colonel Mason Truman sat in the dark. The city was sealed; he was off duty, with precious hours to drink, mourn his elder son, rejoice that the younger had made it back.
All he could do was remember that Scott had followed his brother off a cliff.
And Marcus wouldn't be around to catch him any more.
